The Directorate of Finance and Accounts, now under the watch of Jigah Gabriel Reuben has continued to develop a feasible financial plan to enhance revenue generation, initiate new sources of revenue and ensure prudent financial management process for NIMET.
Jigah a thorough bred professional, a Chartered Accountant and a Forensic Auditor is an Associate Member of Chartered Institute of Taxation and an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN). With a first degree in Accounting from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Jigah started his working career at Bursary department of Federal University of Technology, Minna in 1986.
He later obtained a masters Degree in Business Administration and also worked with Confluence Savings and Loans Limited and National Institute for Pharmaceutical Research and Development, both in Abuja as Deputy Manger and Chief Accountant respectively.
Jigah joined the services of NIMET in 2002 as Head of internal Audit. His career in Public Service got a major boost in August 2010, when he was appointed the Acting Director, Finance and Accounts and was subsequently appointed as the substantive Director Finance and Accounts in September 2012. Since Jigah came on the saddle, the Finance and Accounts Directorate among other giant strides is now witnessing:
- Increased efficiency in the management of the Agency’s finances.
- Increased number of ICT compliant staff.
- Increased local and international training of staff in the finance and Accounts Department to enhance productivity.
- Proper cash planning.
- Establishment of efficient and effective Internal Control System
