Agrometeorological Bulletin No. 4, Dekad 1, February (01 –10) 2019
The 1st dekad of agrometeorological bulletin for February, 2019 shows some parts of the south recorded rains ranging from 0.5mm to about 74.4mm in 1-2 rain days while the north and central remained dry. Below normal soil moisture conditions were observed across the country except places like Benin, Warri and Ikom areas that had above normal. Highest temperature was recorded over Oshogbo and Bida (36.90C) and lowest at Eket (300C). Most parts of the country where in colder to normal temperature anomalies with exception of places around Oshogbo, Ibadan, Iseyin, Akure and Asaba where warmer than normal were observed. The Inter Tropical Discontinuity (ITD) is expected to oscillate between Latitude 80N to 90N and attain a mean position of 8.50N.
