Agrometeorological Bulletin No.17, Dekad 2, JUNE (11 –20) 2018
The 2nd dekad of agrometeorological bulletin for June, 2018 is presented in this edition. The country recorded an increased in rainfall total and distribution when compared with the 1st dekad of June. Above normal to normal rainfall anomalies is observed across most parts of the country except Katsina, Yelwa, Ogoja, Abuja, Lokoja, Enugu, Awka and some part of south western state experienced below normal rainfall anomalies.
Highest temperature was recorded at Nguru (38.80C). Most parts of the country experienced normal to colder than-normal temperature anomalies. The Inter Tropical Discontinuity (ITD) is expected to move northward to attain a mean position of 15.70N. Planting across the central states and some parts of northern
states are ongoing except few places in the fringes of the north where land preparation is under way in anticipation of the growing season.
