“The mandate of NiMet goes beyond weather forecasting. Many people may know NiMet for our services to the aviation sector but we do more than that. Our services encompass all sectors of the economy including marine and blue economy. We welcome the invitation from ITPN to be part of the forthcoming expo because sectoral collaboration is critical to achieving President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda in the Marine and Blue Economy sector which has witnessed impressive reforms. Such collaboration will also enhance the nation’s economic growth and development”.
In his remarks, Chief Abiodun Odusanwo said that NiMet plays a vital role in transportation and other sectors. “Accurate weather forecast is crucial for the safe operation of air, road, and water transportation. NiMet has been providing that service very well hence the decision to involve them in the forthcoming expo”.
