NiMet Ramps Up Staff Training

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has intensified its staff training as a way of improving performance and motivating staff.
In an interview with the Director of Human Resources of the agency, Dr. Nasiru Sani, he said that the agency has trained over a thousand staff members in the last year. Dr. Sani gave kudos to NiMeT’s Director General and Chief Executive Officer, Professor Charles Anosike for his support in improving the capacity of the staff.
“General training for staff on grade levels 04 to 07, and management staff grade level 15 and above have been completed. There are about 500 staff from grade level 08 to 09 who have been trained. Some are currently receiving training on ethics and performance management across the zones (Enugu, Kano, Bauchi, Keffi, Ibadan/Lagos).
Continuing, Dr. Sani said that Professor Anosike-led management is very much committed to its strategy of training all cadres of staff of the agency and that the general training program for staff on grade levels 10 to 14 is receiving the attention of management.
