Prof. Charles Anosike, Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) and Permanent Representative of Nigeria with the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), has been honoured with the 'Award of Excellence in Sustainable Climate Policy', a significant recognition of his exemplary leadership and significant contributions to the advancement of sustainable climate policy.

This prestigious accolade was presented to Prof. Anosike on Thursday, July 5th, 2024, at NiMet’s Headquarters by Brigadier General Adewale Adekoya, an Outgoing Pioneer Student of PhD Class of 2022/23 of the Sustainable Development Centre, University of Abuja represented the Director of the Centre, Prof Sule Magaji. Brigadier General Adewale Adekoya is an acting director at the Nigerian Army Heritage and Future Centre, Abuja.

The award reaffirms NiMet’s dedication to environmental stewardship on the global stage.
