NiMet Organises Pre-Retirement Training for 2026 Retirees

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, commenced the Batch B Pre-Retirement Training Programme for staff scheduled to retire in 2026.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, the Director-General and Chief Executive Officer of NiMet, Prof. Charles Anosike, represented by the Director of Human Resources Management and Administration, Dr. Nasiru Sani, welcomed participants to the training, themed “Preparation Today Determines Peace Tomorrow.”

In his remarks, Prof. Anosike described the programme as a significant milestone in the professional journey of the participants, noting that they had devoted some of the most productive years of their lives to the growth and success of the Agency.

He commended their dedication and invaluable contributions to NiMet’s achievements over the years and encouraged them to remain worthy ambassadors of the Agency as they transition into retirement.

The Director-General further urged the participants to embrace the opportunities presented by the training, emphasizing that adequate preparation is essential for a smooth and rewarding retirement. He noted that the programme was designed to equip retiring officers with the knowledge, skills, and resources needed to lead purposeful, productive, and fulfilling lives after active service.

Prof. Anosike wished the participants success as they prepare for the next phase of their lives and expressed confidence that they would continue to make meaningful contributions to society in their future endeavours.
