The Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), Prof. Charles Anosike, was among distinguished guests who attended the Centenary Celebration of Aviation in Nigeria held on Monday, December 1st, 2025, at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Center, Abuja. Organised by the Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development in conjunction with the Aviation Safety Round Table Initiative (ART), the event commemorated 100 years of aviation in Nigeria (1925-2025). It brought together government officials, industry leaders, aviation professionals, and stakeholders from across the sector to celebrate a century of progress, innovation, and national development. The ceremony highlighted the early beginnings of aviation in Nigeria, key milestones achieved over the decades, and the vision for the future of the industry. It also featured a special recognition segment honouring individuals and institutions whose contributions have shaped Nigeria's airspace and aviation safety successes. The celebration, themed "The Milestones, Memories, and The Future of Nigerian Aviation," carried a unifying message of "One Nation, Endless Possibilities," capturing Nigeria's continued aspiration for a safer, stronger, and globally competitive aviation industry.
