Dr. Nasiru Sani is from Jigawa State, Nigeria. His journey in education and professional endeavours is a testament to his dedication and expertise. Beginning his academic voyage at Kudai Special Primary School in Jigawa State, he continued to Government College Bida, Niger State, and graduated with an S.S.C.E. Certificate.
His pursuit of knowledge led him to obtain certificates and diplomas in Computers from the Royal Computer Academy Dutse, Jigawa State, and Yaysif Computer Institute, Maiduguri, respectively. Dr. Sani's academic odyssey culminated in a Diploma in Health Information Management, a Bachelor of Economics (Education), a Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management, a Masters in Project Management, a Master of Science in Health Information Management, and a PhD in Health Information Management from the esteemed University of National Institute of Medical Sciences University Jaipur, India.
Dr. Nasiru Sani's professional journey is marked by a rich tapestry of working, administrative, and teaching experiences that showcase his multidimensional expertise and leadership capabilities. In the realm of working experiences, Dr. Sani's roles have been diverse and impactful. From 2013 to 2015, he served as a Senior State Supervisor for Routine Immunization Exercises in Dutse, Jigawa State, where he played a crucial role in overseeing immunization initiatives. Simultaneously, he was a member of the Local Government Area (LGA) team responsible for planning, managing, and supervising all immunization exercises in the state, demonstrating his administrative prowess.
Dr. Sani's administrative acumen further manifested in various roles, including serving as a Surveyor of Community Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAC) in 2014 and as a State Facilitator at the Integrated Measles Campaign Coverage Survey in the same year. In 2017, he assumed the responsibility of State Logistics Officer in charge of Kaugama Local Government in the Rollback Malaria program, showcasing his adeptness in program management and coordination. His commitment to healthcare extends beyond borders, as evidenced by his stint as a State Facilitator at Hanovia Medical Limited program in Maiduguri, Borno State, Nigeria, and his service with the National Primary Health Care Development Agency in collaboration with WHO for the Measles Campaign Programme in Borno State from 2014 to 2018.
Transitioning into academia, Dr. Sani's leadership flourished. He has been the Head of the Department of Health Information Management at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, Nasarawa State University Keffi. Concurrently, he has served as Chief Invigilator/Examiner at the Health Records Officers Registration Board of Nigeria (HRORBN) since 2015, showcasing his commitment to ensuring professional standards in healthcare education. His administrative roles also include serving as the H.O.D of University Health Services at Federal University Dutse, Jigawa State, Nigeria, from 2014 to 2019, and as the EH and Short Courses Coordinator at the Centre of Excellence in Biomedical Engineering and e-Health, University of Rwanda, from 2019 to 2022.
In the realm of teaching, Dr. Sani's impact is profound. Currently, he holds the position of Associate Professor at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, Nasarawa State University Keffi. His teaching journey spans various institutions and countries, including roles as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Rwanda, a Visiting Lecturer at Mount Kenya University Rwanda, and various other academic engagements in Nigeria, India, and the Republic of Niger.
